With training in social anthropology, Gemma has a deep understanding of both the changing ways in which people live and work in urban environments and the strategic opportunities that lie at the intersection of socio-economic development and net zero.

Gemma founded Human City, which focuses on delivering social value within the built environment.

Awarded a Winston Churchill and RSA Fellowship, and an Honorary Research Fellow of the University College London, she talks about placemaking, sustainability and impact, and supervises students on the University of Cambridge Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment Masters programme.
